IWSG - Wrapping Up 2017...Already?

I can't believe this is the last post of 2017! Where did the year go? Wasn't it just summer?

-What I did the year of our lord, 2017-

Visited the Faulkner House in New Orleans.

Completed 3 manuscripts. Yes. Really.

Online. Shopping. Only.

Actually wrote for writers.

Started a podcast with Keri Schroeder of Coyote Bones Press in Berkeley called, Ghouls Just Wanna Have Fun. We're on episode 10.

Things that got pushed aside: 1. Get a real full time job instead juggling mucho contract work. The flexibility is nice, until it isn't. 2. Act like an adult on the weekends. 3. Balance yoga with running so I won't have the knees of an eighty-year-old. 4. Balance 5. Eat less carbs -ha- 6. Eat less sugar -ha ha ha!- 7. Only eat at Super Duper Burger once a week. Yup. Nope.

This list goes on and on and on...

My plans for 2018 is to move forward on projects with my publishing friend, Andrea at Cotton Wolf Press and actually achieve some New Years fitness goals.

What didn't you complete this year? What does your 2018 look like? Hope everyone has an awesome holiday!

  1. Your year sounds pretty darn good. For myself I'd be pleased to see one manuscript in three years. Three in a year is phenomenal.

    1. Good on you for cutting carbs! I snack when I write, which is all the time. Here's to figuring out a different coping method for 2018.

  4. Totally know and understand the food and fitness problems. Eek. That's one area where I could always do better. Sounds like you had a pretty successful 2017, though. Best of luck moving into the new year! :)

  5. I'm laughing as I read your "Things that got pushed aside," Adrienne! A number of them are on my own list, including balance. That's been on my list for every year as long as I can remember. I still haven't achieved it. Adult? Less carbs? Less sugar? Less visiting my favorite unhealthy bar and grill? Less wine ~ I spotted that in your photo; my nemesis (but I really don't want less!)! Thanks for my best laugh of the morning, and congratulations on all you have achieved with writing this year! Happy Holidays!

    1. Thanks, Fundy Blue! You got to laugh at it/yourself, right? Brutal honesty is the key to getting shite done. I finally have an editor/publisher ready to push me to expose myself more. I've been sitting on work for too long. Here's to a productive 2018! May our portfolios swell. Happy Holidays!

  6. I remember when I got the call from the doctor about how to avoid more kidney stones. First he said avoid salt. Then he said, "And one other thing, don't eat..." Crossing my fingers and toes did no good. The second was sugar. ARGHH!

  7. It's easy for things to get pushed aside, isn't it? I think you had a productive 2017, though. Here's to a great 2018!
